"Discover the relaxing and mindful art of wet felting with Wool artist Julija Halilovic.

In this three hours workshop, you will learn to wet felt delightful little 'vessel'/ bowl that is made from wool fibres.

Whether you wish to keep precious trinkets safe, insert the glass jar for flowers or put a candle inside to create magical shapes and light, these unique and earthy sculpture will be truly precious and its softness and strength will remind you of the power you hold in your hands.

All materials for the workshop will be provided. 

The workshop is beginner-friendly but anyone with prior knowledge may elect to do a more challenging piece.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free. "

About Your Teacher:

Julija Kolega Halilovic from Soul Portraits and Art Julija is a felt artist who is enchanted by the magic of turning wool fibre into a cohesive felted fabric.  Through extensive reading and experimentation, her techniques are self-taught and continually evolving. 

Employing both traditional and modern felt making techniques, Julija creates hand felted sculptural pieces of functional, decorative, and wearable art.
Her work is incredibly intuitive and unites the hands, head and the heart.
The journey into art and wool painting started at the craft group of the Waldorf school her daughter was attending.
As a professional therapist and energy worker, this therapeutic medium opened up the whole new level of expression and communication with her clients.
For the last 6 years she is conducting the workshops for adults and children.
With her daughter she was award winning artist at the Matthew Flinders Art prize at Brisbane.
Her work was in some of the prestigious galleries in Queensland. Originally she is coming from Croatia where she finished the Diploma of Phylosophy and Religious Cultures.
Her passion to know more and to explore other cultures, brought her to Australia where she lives for the last 17 years.
She recently moved to NSW with her family from Brisbane.
